Job Summary

Under the supervision of the General Manager and President, the Salesperson will be professional, enthusiastic and motivated individual, highly skilled at building relationships is able to deal with virtually all business environments. With extensive heavy truck knowledge, responsibilities include all sales activities in assigned accounts plus generating new leads that promote the company and increase market share. As the first point of contact for all new clients and vendors, a high degree of premium customer service internally & externally is of the utmost importance. You are an active team player works well with all staff including the other Departments and puts the needs of the customer first.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Salesperson performs some or all of the following duties:

  • Spec and design units to meet customer’s needs
  • Responsible for gathering new customers either through provided leads or prospecting
  • Determine each customer’s trucking needs by asking questions and listening
  • Demonstrates trucks, which includes test drives
  • Involves Sales Manager in all transactions
  • Prepares paperwork to activate the account
  • Arranges preparation of vehicle for the customer
  • Works with the service department and paint shop to ensure that vehicles are ready as expected and on schedule
  • Deliver vehicles to Customers. Ensuring that the customer understands the vehicle’s operating features, warranty and paperwork, which lays the foundation for customer loyalty
  • Available to professionally interact with Customers during normal business hours and after hours when necessary
  • Follows up with customer to verify satisfactory operation of vehicle
  • Attends sales meetings
  • Maintains accurate and efficient records
  • Assist in appraisal and evaluation of trade-ins
  • Works with the Service Department to enhance and up sell truck sales and parts
  • Discusses and implements special promotions
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications
  • Has successfully completed the AMVIC course and is licensed through them
  • Minimum 5 years as a Salesperson in the Heavy Truck Industry
  • Minimum Class 3 Q (with air) is required
  • Ability to understand and effectively use computer equipment including Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work in a high pressure environment safely
  • Must be able to present yourself in a positive, professional manner to colleagues and customers
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers, customers and the general public
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
