To our Valued Customers,
Well, we have managed to get through 2008. Though it has not been without some challenges overall we can take a great deal of optimism into 2009. We are all aware that the economy has been experiencing some not so pleasant fluctuations however like we try to remind everyone a 5% unemployment means that 95% ARE employed and no growth does not mean we are not all working hard – we may just be working more than we would like. So basically, there is always a positive spin on any news.
As we all know, Daimler Trucks of North America has chosen to stop the production of the Sterling Truck line. What has been most challenging, is finding that others have heard that Daimler will stop the production of some of their other lines. Just recently, Chris Patterson, the President and CEO, has announced a greater than ever financial and manpower commitment, through Daimler, for Western Star Trucks to take this brand to the level of credibility and visibility we know it deserves. Chris has also, more than once, made it clear that Daimler is committed to supporting the Sterling Truck customers for the long-run (upwards of 10 years). So we ask that our customers hesitate to believe what others say when they are not well within the actual program.
With this accurate information, our own faith in the economy and our customers, we know that 2009 will prove to be more successful than our illustrious media have claimed. Though we are not careless in our thinking, and know that we all need to take the necessary precautions to protect our assets; we believe that with steady action, efficiency and commitment we will all manage through 2009 both to serve our customers and thrive during these times.
As such we wish our customers this same optimism and success for 2009 and we look forward to a long and prosperous working relationship. We look forward to assisting you and your organization with all your Parts, Service and New Truck needs in the coming year(s).
